WOW what a Summer,
It is with great surprise that summer is here and things are happening fast. The head and part time custodians are doing a fabulous job getting the school ready for another school year.
Summer Lunch is is process and happens everyday from 11:30-12:30 Monday thru Friday. The building will be closed on July 24 in celebration of Utah's Pioneer Day celebration.
Summer Library is happening in the School library. Miss Neal and Mrs. Cool have donated their Tuesdays and Fridays to make books available to many children in the school community. We really appreciate them for their help and dedication to the children of the Municipal Community.
Both Summer Lunch and Library will end on July 31. So that we can all prepare for the coming school year.
New Student Registration will take Place on Thursday, August 6. The registration will take place from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. This registration is for all new students coming to Municipal this Fall.
Kindergarten is having a Jump Start program for all of those students coming to Kindergarten during the week of August 3 - Thurs., August 6. What a great way for your young kids to be introduced into a new school setting and preparing them for a wonderful educational experience. Registration is currently happening for this Jump Start class, please contact the office soon.

General PTA meeting to have a large group discussion on why we need your help and PTA business 6:15-6:30 standing room in the gym. 4th and Last Session will begin 6:35-6:55 in each classroom. During the first week of school Tuesday, August 25 -Friday, August 28 we will be on early out schedule (1:15 release) so that parents can make contact and schedule appointments to have one-to-one conversations with their child's teacher about their child.
As you can see it is and has been a busy Summer. We are excited for some changes this Fall. Municipal has just qualified as a Title 1 school so there are a lot of wonderful help that we have received due to this status. First we will be having 3 Full day kindergarten classes starting this Fall above and beyond our Alternative Kindergarten class. We want to welcome a new teacher Julie Merrill to our school. She is coming with great experience from Club Heights elementary in So. Ogden. We have a few other slight changes in grade level assignments and room changes. We are also excited for some new curriculum (STEM) Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics that we are fusing into each of or 7 grade here at school. The name of the program is Project Lead the Way Launch. With this program there will be some students who will be involved in After school Robotics classes and competitions. What a great experience we will be starting with this new endeavor. We are looking forward to many more great things happening at Municipal Elementary School. Jump on board with us and enjoy the ride. We are always looking for additional help and support at school and in the PTA. Please contact your child's classroom teacher or the office to find ways that you can make a difference. Have an enjoyable Summer and keep in touch and we will try to keep you informed of the events for the rest of the year. It is such a joy to work with your children each day!
Let's have a great, fun filled, exciting, and eventful school year.
